Where there is a will, there is a way...
Rungtawan Tuohy is a Thai-Irish ceramic artist with a Bachelors of Ceramics in Expanding Practice degree from the Limerick School of Art & Design. Art was always a vital aspect of her life and she found her passion for ceramics in college.
Her practice concentrates on sentimental value and personal narratives to share her own experience through sculptural mediums. Rungtawan's recent projects are influenced by both daily life and large systemic social issues. The main medium she uses is porcelain, utilizing the clean white background as a canvas, she combines a variety of carefully selected colours to create narratives in stamped dialogue – communicating stories through a series of clay objects. The choice of words emphasize the emotion and highlight the project’s purpose, and aim to share the experience of herself, and those with similar experiences.
